In this project I’m writing and researching the community of how low income women in the Alameda county area of California can not afford proper abortions and birth control supplies that are safe even without having health care insurance. My thesis statement is Low income women most of the times can not afford the cost of a proper abortion in some parts of alameda county, California. Some try to prevent a pregnancy all from the beginning by various types of birth control provided by the government but don’t know the harmful effects birth control pills have on their bodies. The two issues I’m focused on really narrow down the needs of so many women that are overlooked and overworked. During the research, i have read and discovered that so many women have to make life altering decisions that could easily be fixed with a rich person’s pocket change. Additionally, about sixteen percent of all households are experiencing food insecurity. In Alameda County, low income women are already struggling to put food on their tables and support their families. With a median household size of two point seven, low income women have many financial responsibilities.
